Máximo Mazzocco is a volunteer and socio-environmental entrepreneur dedicated to sustainable reconciliation. Guided by a Pangeist philosophy, he is the founder and CEO of EcoNews, the socio-environmental media outlet with the largest reach in the Spanish-speaking world (surpassing 600 million annual organic views across all social media platforms in 2026), and the founder and president of Eco House Global, a nonprofit Action for Sustainability organization specializing in the development of educational, policy, communication, consulting, and ecological restoration programs and initiatives. His nearly 20 years of work as a consultant, author, and activist have taken him to more than 40 countries in pursuit of the ecological transition.

Between 2016 and 2020, EHG was one of the youth-led socio-environmental organizations with the largest volunteer bases in Latin America, thanks to its pragmatic Agents of Change program, which was later replicated in different forms by dozens of partner organizations around the world. Countless stories, experiences, attempts, laughter, embraces, and seeds that transcend the individual and flourish in the collective. At its peak, EHG ran more than 40 programs, many of which received international recognition. Today, the organization focuses on socio-environmental education and ecological restoration projects.

Máximo is the president of Sintientes, an animal advocacy nonprofit working in policy, education, and communication to protect the Animal Kingdom. He has followed a plant-based diet for more than 15 years. He is also an active member of the Order of Kay Pacha, a group dedicated to creating, accelerating, and/or managing impact-driven initiatives. From 2019 to 2025, he served as a Global Youth Ambassador for the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) —now a UNDP Generation17 alumnus— helping empower young people around the world. In 2019, he was recognized as an Outstanding Personality of the City of Buenos Aires and named one of Argentina’s 10 Outstanding Young People by Junior Chamber International (JCI). Shortly afterward, between 2020 and 2021, he underwent an intense period of cancer treatment, an experience he considers “the most enriching adventure of his life.” Author of two published books, he was a member of the inaugural Steering Committee of the Youth Climate Justice Fund (2021–2025), which distributed more than US$25 million to youth-led projects in over 50 countries.

A recipient of the 2024 P.E.A. Award for his “tireless efforts for the environment,” he served for many years as a youth delegate at international events (COPs, Climate Weeks, and others), including historic gatherings such as the first Escazú Agreement COP and the 2019 New York Climate Week. Between 2020 and 2023, he served as Youth Coordinator and member of the organizing committee for Youth4Climate (2021 and 2022), and co-organized RCOY LAC and RCOY LAT (2021, 2022, and 2023).

Máximo is a nonpartisan socio-environmental advisor to dozens of politicians, NGOs, entrepreneurs, and business leaders, and for several years was an environmental communicator with an active presence in mainstream media. He has also co-created numerous socio-environmental youth initiatives, organizations, campaigns, and networks at the local, national, and international levels. He was a fellow of the Climate Justice – Just Transition (CJ-JT) Donor Collaborative in 2023 (inaugural cohort), where he worked to accelerate philanthropy focused on sustainability. Among other notable achievements, he was the initial driving force behind the School Network for Sustainable Development, FacultadSocioAmbiental.org, BibliotecaAmbiental.org, and Datasa.org (Socio-Environmental Hard Data Database). He was also recognized as one of the 100 Latinos Most Committed to Climate Action (Sachamama, 2021, 2022, and 2024).

With an academic background in environmental management, philosophy, and business administration, he has spoken at more than 300 international events in recent years and shared stages and panel discussions with some of the world’s highest-ranking authorities. He also directed and wrote the screenplay for Buscando a las Toninas, an independent environmental documentary that gained significant attention in 2019 and received national awards. Additionally, he has served as a jury member in more than 30 national and international competitions addressing various sustainability-related topics.

It is important to highlight that all the work he has carried out for, with, and through Eco House Global has been entirely voluntary, without receiving any financial compensation. During 2018, 2019, and 2020, he lived at the organization’s headquarters with the aim of being available 24 hours a day “to help.” There, beyond his daily work alongside hundreds of volunteers, he connected with more than 500 international volunteer guests who stayed at the historic house at Arévalo 1557, located in the well-known Palermo neighborhood of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From 2007 to 2022, his personal mission was twofold: (1) to bring socio-environmental issues to the forefront of the political, public, and private agendas, making them a cross-cutting priority capable of transforming culture, values, and the ways we inhabit the world; and (2) to connect thousands of people and collective efforts around this agenda, building a self-sustaining, autonomous, pluralistic movement capable of enduring over time. In pursuit of these goals, he directly participated in the passage of more than 40 socio-environmental laws across Argentina and Latin America (at the national, provincial, and municipal levels), actively contributed to the creation of more than 20 Youth Councils within organizations and companies with global impact, organized digital communication campaigns reaching millions of users, and built connections across education, nonpartisan politics, consulting, civil society, international affairs, grassroots action, entrepreneurship, youth movements, science, and sports.

In short, he dreams of a world where we learn to care, coexist, and share, and works to make that dream a reality.
